Robert Michael Alig, 28, of Ottumwa, was arrested Tuesday morning in the 1200 block of West Madison Street in Washington on a Cedar County warrant for operating without owner’s consent.
Charges were filed Tuesday morning in the 1100 block of South B Avenue in Washington on David Alleiyn Hudson, 17, of Brighton, for simple assault.
A caller reported Tuesday morning being involved in an accident with a semi at Highway 218 and 335th Street in Crawfordsville. Officers responded. Information was exchanged.
A caller in the 100 block of E Avenue in Kalona reported Tuesday morning that one of their employees was involved in an accident. Information was exchanged. The incident was documented.
A caller reported hitting two deer Tuesday evening in the 2600 block of Elm Avenue in Brighton. Officers were advised. The incident was documented.
A semi vs. car accident was reported Tuesday night at Highway 218 in Riverside. Two people were reported injured. Officers, Washington County Ambulance, Riverside QRS and Riverside Rescue responded.
A van was reportedly parked in the 100 block of North B Avenue in Washington for over two weeks with the windows down. Officers responded. The vehicle was tagged and the tires were chalked.
A farmer was reported running a single axel grain cart on Vine Avenue in Riverside Tuesday afternoon. He has been warned in the past that he’s over the limit. Officers were unable to locate.
All other thefts
A caller in the 100 block of 15th Street in Wellman reported Tuesday afternoon she bought her son a cell phone and when he was arrested, he gave it to another kid. She requested to speak with a deputy about getting it back. Officers spoke with the caller, who is going to get the kid’s full name. The officer will assist in getting the phone back. The incident was documented.
An aggressive dog was reported Tuesday night in the 400 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded. The dog was returned. The owner was advised of pending civil infractions as well as that the officer would request the dog be removed from the city.
All other offenses
The door to a business in the 200 block of West Main Street in Brighton was reported wide open Tuesday morning. Officers were advised. The door had blown open.
A caller in the 500 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington reported Tuesday evening that the house next to him was for sale and it appeared a door was open. Dispatch spoke with a realtor, who advised there was a problem with an exterior door and the interior door was padlocked shut.
A subject was reported in the 1200 block of West Madison Street in Washington Tuesday morning sitting along the side of the road with a backpack. Officers responded.
A welfare check was requested Tuesday afternoon at Nutmeg and Highway 22 in Kalona on a subject who made suicidal statements. Officers were unable to locate.
