Arrests

Nathan Douglas Mueller, 21, of Washington, was arrested Thursday morning in the 400 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington for failure to appear on a fifth-degree theft charge. Charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia are pending lab results.

Chad Dale Godwin, 38, of Washington, was arrested Thursday morning in the 300 block of East Washington Street in Washington for operating while intoxicated.

Diana Lee Rick, 42, of Muscatine, was arrested Thursday morning in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside for possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of prescription drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Traffic accidents

A vehicle was reported in the ditch Wednesday afternoon at Highway 218 and 320th Street in Crawfordsville. Officers responded. The vehicle was towed.

An officer reported Wednesday evening being out at Highway 218 and 160th Street in Riverside with a vehicle that might have hit a deer. The vehicle was towed. The driver was given a state accident report.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Wednesday night in the 2000 block of Highway 78 in Brighton. The incident was documented.

 

Fire calls

A stove was reported on fire Wednesday evening in the 1600 block of North Sixth Avenue in Washington. The apartment was evacuated. Washington Fire Department and officers responded. The fire was extinguished.

 

Assault

A caller in the 1600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington requested to speak with an officer Wednesday afternoon in reference to being assaulted Tuesday night. Officers spoke with the caller. She did not wish to pursue charges. The incident was documented.

 

Motor vehicle theft

A vehicle was reported stolen Wednesday afternoon in the 100 block of East Main Street in Washington. Officers responded. The vehicle was later located in the 100 block of East Main Street. The vehicle was turned over to the owner.

 

Burglary

A vehicle was reported gone through Monday morning in the 1100 block of East Adams Street in Washington and items were missing. The incident was documented.

A truck was reported broken into Wednesday afternoon in the 1000 block of South B Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.

 

Fraud

A caller in the 1000 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported Wednesday afternoon that sometime last night someone applied for online loans using the caller’s name. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 100 block of East Second Street in Riverside reported Wednesday afternoon that his daughter might have been using his information to obtain a credit card. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

 

Bad checks

A caller in the 600 block of North Sixth Avenue in Washington reported Wednesday afternoon that a subject wrote him a bad check for a vehicle. Officers responded. The caller will file a 10-day notice.

 

Vandalism

Someone reportedly dented a driver’s side door of a vehicle in the 600 block of West Second Street in Washington Wednesday evening.  The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported Wednesday evening her mother was “verbally attacked” for the second time. Officers spoke with the caller, who will try to obtain a no-contact order.

 

Disorderly conduct

A fight was reported Wednesday night in the 300 block of East Second Street in Washington. Officers responded. No one was fighting on arrival.

 

Animal complaints

A lamb was reported killed Wednesday morning in the 1400 block of Fir Avenue in Wellman. The caller believed the neighbor’s dog might have done it. The incident was documented.

A dog was reported tied up outside in the 600 block of East Main Street in Washington Wednesday evening and it had been barking for a while. Officers responded. No one was home.

A German Shepherd puppy was reported in the back seat of a vehicle parked in the 1500 block of East Washington Street in Washington Wednesday evening. Officers were unable to locate.

 

All other offenses

A subject was reported in the 600 block of North Fifth Street in Washington burning items in his yard. Officers responded. No one was home. Officers put the fire out.

Items were reported located in a yard in the 700 block of South 10th Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. A vehicle registration, owner’s manual and proof of insurance were located. The items were returned to the neighbor. The incident was documented.

A bottle of prescription medication was reported lost Wednesday afternoon in the 500 block of West Madison Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller in the 700 block of East Washington Street in Washington reported Wednesday afternoon his ex-wife was threatening to come to the residence and take their children, whom he had full custody of. Officers responded. The parties were advised to seek legal and civil counsel.

A verbal altercation between the caller and his parents was reported Wednesday evening in the 400 block of East Main Street in Brighton and the caller reported he was no longer at the residence. Officers responded.

 

Suspicious activity

A juvenile in the 200 block of South Main Street in Crawfordsville reported Wednesday afternoon that the elementary school had his basketball and they were refusing to give it back. Officers spoke with the juvenile and his father. Unfounded. The subject was counseled on his actions.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested on a subject in the 1000 block of East Washington Street in Washington Wednesday morning. Officers responded. The subject was actually in Swisher. Johnson County units were advised.
