Arrests

Kayla Marie Knuth, 22, of Marengo, was arrested Monday afternoon at Highway 92 in Washington on an Iowa State Patrol warrant for failure to appear on driving under suspension citation.

 

Traffic accidents

A hit and run accident that occurred Friday night was reported Monday afternoon in the 600 block of West Jefferson Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Monday evening in the 1300 block of Highway 1 in Kalona. Officers responded.

An officer reported Monday evening being out with two vehicles that hit a deer at Highway 1 and 140th Street in Kalona. Damage to both vehicles was over $1,500. The vehicles were towed.

A caller reported Monday evening hitting a deer in the 2200 block of Vine Avenue in Ainsworth and requested a deer tag. Officers responded.

A tractor pulling a haro that was folded on top reportedly pulled down power lines in the 1400 block of 250th Street in Washington Monday evening and they were laying on the ground. Officers and Alliant responded. The incident was documented.

 

Traffic other

A subject was reported Monday afternoon in the 1300 block of East Second Street in Washington riding a 4-wheeler up and down the alley, through yards, and in the street. Officers responded. The 4-wheeler was parked on arrival. The mother will advise the son that he needs to stay in their yard when riding the 4-wheeler.

 

Fraud

A caller in the 200 block of East Washington Street in Washington reported Monday afternoon receiving letters from her bank regarding fraudulent activities. Officers spoke with the caller. No money was missing. Charges were attempted online using the caller’s information. The incident was documented.

 

Forgery

A possible forged check was reported Monday afternoon in the 200 block of East Washington Street in Washington. The incident is under investigation.

 

All other thefts

The theft of Girl Scout money from cookie sales was reported Monday morning in the 1500 block of Ginkgo Avenue in Wellman. The money was never turned into Girl Scout headquarters. The incident is under investigation.

Prescription medication was reported stolen Monday night in the 1400 block of 250th Street in Washington. The incident is under investigation.

 

Vandalism

A mailbox was reported vandalized Monday afternoon in the 2600 block of Wayland Road in Washington. The incident was documented.

 

Animal complaints

An injured deer was reported Monday evening in the 1300 block of Iowa Avenue in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

 

DP&Q

Loud music was reported Monday afternoon in the 2600 block of Wayland Road in Washington. Officers spoke with the subject and advised him of the complaint.

 

All other offenses

A caller reported Monday morning losing his wallet Saturday night in the 300 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington. The wallet was entered into the system.

A violation of an order of protection was reported Monday afternoon in the 600 block of West Adams Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

 

Suspicious activity

A subject on the Kewash Trail at North H Avenue in Washington reported Tuesday morning hearing something that sounded like someone screaming in pain. Officers were unable to locate.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested Monday evening on a subject in the 500 block of South Second Avenue in Washington. Officers responded and contacted the subject.
