Arrests

Ryan Fredrick Kimmel, 22, of Washington, was arrested Friday afternoon in the 700 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington for probation violation on an original charge of harassment.

Michael Allen Fett, 29, of Riverside, was arrested Friday evening in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside for domestic abuse assault aggravated, intimidation with a dangerous weapon and reckless use of a firearm. Gordon Tyrone Blades, 44, of Riverside, was arrested at the same time and location for domestic abuse serious.

Donald Dean Bell, 44, of Kalona, was arrested Saturday morning in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona for violation of a no-contact order.

Anthony Allen Kos, 37, of Riverside, was arrested Saturday night in the 2500 block of 150th Street in Riverside for domestic abuse simple assault.

 

Traffic accidents

James Jordan Bell, 19, of Washington, was cited Friday for OWI in reference to an accident that occurred Aug. 17 in the 500 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington.

A caller reported an accident in the 100 block of East Main Street in Wellman Friday afternoon. Officers responded. Information was exchanged.

An unoccupied vehicle reportedly rolled into another vehicle Saturday afternoon in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington. Officers responded. Information was exchanged.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Saturday evening at Highway 22 in Wellman. The incident was documented.

A vehicle was reportedly stuck in a ditch Saturday night in the 3000 block of 135th Street in Riverside. Officers responded and located a Gator with no one around. Officers spoke with the owner, who did not know who was driving it. The incident was documented.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Saturday night in the 2600 block of Highway 218 in Ainsworth. Officers responded. The vehicle was towed. The incident was documented.

 

Intoxicated driver

An intoxicated subject reportedly left Eighth Avenue in Wellman Friday evening in a vehicle. Officers were unable to locate.

An intoxicated subject was reported Friday evening in several yards in Wellman knocking on doors. The subject reportedly gets into his vehicle, drives a little, and gets out again. Officers located the subject in the 200 block of Eighth Avenue in Wellman. The Taser was deployed. The subject was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Charges are pending.

 

Traffic other

A vehicle was reported improperly parked in the 1300 block of Highway 22 in Wellman Friday morning. Officers responded.

A possibly intoxicated driver was reported Friday afternoon at Highways 1 and 92 at the Kewash Trail in Washington. Officers responded. The driver was not intoxicated.

 

Fire calls

A brush pile fire reportedly got out of control Saturday afternoon in the 1400 block of Highway 22 in Wellman. Wellman Fire Department responded. The fire was extinguished.

A burner on a stove reportedly caught fire Sunday afternoon in the 500 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington. Washington Fire Department responded.

A large diesel fuel spill was reported Monday morning in the 3100 block of Highway 92 in Ainsworth. Ainsworth Fire Department responded.

 

Assault

A vehicle was reported stolen Sunday morning in the 2300 block of 150th Street in Kalona and an assault reportedly occurred. Officers responded. The vehicle was repossessed and the caller’s father was injured in the process. Both parties were at fault. It was a civil matter.

 

Physical child abuse

A possible case of physical child abuse and drug activity was reported Sunday afternoon in the City of Wellman. The incident is under investigation.

 

Drug/narcotics violations

A caller in the 1100 block of South B Avenue in Washington reported Friday afternoon finding drug items. Jerry Darnell Walker, 17, of Washington, was charged with possession of marijuana.

 

Stolen property

A caller in the 1200 block of Maple Avenue in Kalona reported Friday afternoon that a subject stole the plates off his van, put them on another vehicle, and was driving the vehicle. The incident was documented.

 

All other thefts

A caller in the 1300 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported Saturday evening that a co-worker noticed a subject running into a cornfield. On checking, the caller found two $100 bills were missing. Officers responded.

 

Vandalism

A vehicle reportedly received damage from overspray Friday evening in the 100 block of Railroad Street in Riverside. The incident was documented.

A juvenile was reported jumping on vehicle in the 1000 block of East Van Buren Street in Washington Friday night. Officers spoke with the juvenile and the owner of the vehicle. The incident was documented.

A business sign worth $1,200 reportedly disappeared from a building in the 200 block of Fifth Street in Kalona Sunday night. Officers responded. It was a civil matter.

 

Intimidation/harassment

An officer was requested Friday morning in the 3300 block of Clayton Avenue in Wayland in reference to a subject harassing them. Officers responded. It was a civil issue.

A caller in the 500 block of Ninth Avenue in Wellman reported Saturday afternoon he was having a problem with a subject living in North Liberty. The subject had sent him a threatening email. The incident was documented.

A caller reported Sunday evening a subject harassed her daughter at the Wassonville Cemetery in Wellman. The incident was documented.

 

Disorderly conduct

Janae Kim-Morris, 18, of Washington, was cited Friday afternoon in the 1100 block of South B Avenue in Washington for disorderly conduct.

About six subjects were reported fighting Friday afternoon in the 800 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The subjects were playing football and it got out of hand.

A caller in the 200 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington reported Saturday night five other girls jumped her. Officers responded.

 

Prowlers

A subject reportedly tried to enter a residence in the 100 block of South Sixth Street in Kalona Sunday morning. Officers responded.

 

Trespass

A subject was reportedly driving a motorcycle erratically Friday afternoon in the 1300 block of Tulip Avenue in Riverside. Officers were unable to locate.

A caller in the 3300 block of 190th Street in Columbus Junction requested documentation Sunday afternoon that someone was on his property and tampered with the breathalyzer in his vehicle. The incident was documented.

 

Intoxicated pedestrian

A deputy was requested Sunday morning in the 3100 of Highway 22 in Riverside for a subject who was intoxicated and wanted to leave. Officers responded.

 

Animal complaints

An officer was requested Saturday morning in the 1000 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington for assistance in removing three raccoons. Officers responded.

A barking dog was reported Saturday afternoon in the 600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

A barking dog was reported Saturday evening in the 1100 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded.

An injured deer was reported Saturday evening in the 1200 block of Hickory Avenue in Wellman. Officers responded.

Barking dogs were reported Sunday night in the 100 block of North Seventh Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

 

DP&Q

A caller in the 1300 block of Redwood Avenue in Riverside reported Friday morning that a subject was shooting guns on his property and disturbing the cattle. Officers spoke with the subject.

Subjects were reported being loud and playing loud music Saturday night in the 700 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

Subjects were reported making noise Saturday night in the 1000 block of Walnut Avenue in Riverside. Officers responded.

 

All other offenses

A gas drive-off in the amount of $17 was reported Friday morning in the 700 block of Sixth Street in Wellman. Officers contacted the driver and accompanied him back to the store.

A caller in the 100 block of South B Avenue in Washington reported Sunday morning having trouble with the neighbors. Officers responded.

 

Suspicious activity

A caller in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside reported Saturday morning hearing fireworks or gunshots. Officers were unable to locate.

A green metal box was reported Sunday morning in the 800 block of Second Street in Wellman. Officers responded. The items were disposed of.

 

Family offense non violent

A violation of a no-contact order was reported Friday evening in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona. Charges are pending.

 

Mental subject

A subject was reported Sunday morning in the 1100 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington upset and throwing things. Officers responded.

 

Welfare check

A caller in the 1300 block of West Madison Street in Washington requested to speak with an officer Saturday morning regarding options. Officers spoke with the caller.

A welfare check was requested Sunday afternoon in the 200 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington on a subject who rode the bus from Ottumwa and did not return. Officers responded. The subject was fine.
