Arrests

Arturo Coronel, 44, of Washington, was arrested Saturday morning at South Second Avenue and East Van Buren Street in Washington for public intoxication.

Jonathan Troy Cook, 35, of Ottumwa, was arrested Saturday afternoon in the 300 block of West Second Street in Ottumwa on a Washington County warrant for failure to appear for show cause on OWI.

Christopher Maxwell White, 22, of Washington, was arrested Sunday morning at Fifth Street and E Avenue in Kalona for operating while intoxicated and driving under revocation.

Joshua Lloyd Gesling, 22, of Kalona, was arrested Sunday morning in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona for operating while intoxicated.

Jose Luis Olvera Rico, 63, of Ottumwa, was arrested Monday night at Highway 78 and Dogwood Avenue in Brighton for operating while intoxicated.

Jermaine Isaac Alonzo Adams, 31, of Washington, was arrested Tuesday morning in the 400 block of South Third Avenue in Washington for public intoxication. Tyler Lane Ousey, 19, of Washington, was arrested at the same time and location for disorderly conduct, public intoxication and interference with official acts.

 

Citations issued

Genevieve Grace Cleverly, 16, of Washington, was cited Friday in the 100 block of North Second Avenue in Washington for unlawful passing of a school bus.

Rebecca Lynn Enfield, 48, of Washington, was cited Friday in the100 block of North Second Avenue in Washington for unlawful passing of a school bus.

 

Traffic accidents

A traffic accident was reported Friday morning in a parking lot in the 1500 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded. Sapphire Nicole Harrison, 16, of Washington, was cited for driving under suspension.

A vehicle accident was reported Friday morning in the 300 block of Ninth Avenue in Wellman. Under $1,500 damage was reported.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Friday afternoon at Sixth Street and Highway 22 in Wellman. Bethany Nichole Baumer of Kalona was cited for failure to maintain control.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Saturday morning in the 100 block of West Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded. Over $1,500 damage was reported. Russell Parker of Washington was cited for failure to yield upon entering a thru highway.

A vehicle accident was reported Sunday morning in the 200 block of East First Street in Riverside. Taylor Lianne Yeggy, 20, was cited for following too closely.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Sunday evening in the 2100 block of Highway 1 in Washington. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Monday night in the 1000 block of Highway 78 in Richland. The incident was documented.

 

Traffic stop serious

Daymun Roger Schadt, 23, of Brighton, was cited Tuesday morning in the 100 block of East Madison Street in Washington for driving under suspension.

 

Traffic other

A stop arm violation was reported Friday afternoon in the 100 block of South 15th Avenue in Washington. The incident is under investigation.

A caller in the 60 block of Saint Mary Street in Riverside reported Monday afternoon an ongoing issue with people attending church parking across from their driveway and they aren’t able to get out. Officers responded and backed the subject’s vehicle out of the driveway. Subjects from the church moved the vehicle in question and put cones up.

A subject was reported speeding on a four-wheeler Monday afternoon in the 900 block of East Second Street in Washington and had small children on the back. Officers counseled the subject.

 

Fire calls

A fire alarm was reported Friday afternoon in the 100 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington. Washington Fire Department responded. It was a false alarm.

Tree limbs were reported on fire Monday morning in the 3000 block of Peaceful Drive in Riverside. Riverside Fire Department responded. The fire was extinguished.

A car was reported on fire Monday evening at Highway 218 and 140th Street in Riverside. Riverside Fire Department responded and assisted with the vehicle and a small fire under the hood.

 

Assault

A caller in the 1000 block of East Van Buren Street in Washington reported Friday night his daughters were at the football game and a boy tackled one of them and slammed her head to the ground. Officers spoke with the caller. No visible injuries. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 1700 block of Sixth Avenue N. in Wellman reported Monday evening a subject had assaulted his wife. Officers responded. No charges.

 

Drug/narcotics violation

Maritza Stephens, 24, of Blue Island, Il., was cited Sunday night in the 3200 block of Highway 22 in Riverside for no driver’s license. Charges are pending lab results for possession of marijuana.

A suspicious item was reported located at a residence in the 600 block of West Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded.

 

All other thefts

A purse was reported stolen Friday afternoon in the 300 block of East Washington Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 300 block of West Main Street in Washington reported Friday afternoon someone had taken keys from inside her residence. Officers responded. The subject later located the keys.

A subject was reported going through donated items in the 300 block of East Washington Street in Washington Sunday morning. Officers were unable to locate.

A stolen credit card was reported Sunday night in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. Officers responded.

A caller in the 600 block of East Second Street in Washington reported Monday evening his tackle box and items were stolen out of his boat. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A subject reportedly left a business in the 1500 block of East Washington Street in Washington without paying $34. Officers attempted to locate the subject.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the 900 block of South Third Avenue in Washington reported Saturday afternoon a subject was harassing he via phone calls. Officers spoke with the subject.

A caller requested documentation Saturday evening that while he was washing his truck in the 1000 block of West Monroe Street in Washington a subject had sprayed him and the inside of his truck. The incident was documented.

Neighborhood kids were reported running around Monday afternoon in the 800 block of North Eighth Avenue in Washington on property that didn’t belong to them. Officers spoke with the juveniles and advised them to stay off others’ property.

 

Disorderly conduct

A subject was reported out of control Friday afternoon in the 600 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The subject calmed down.

A subject was reported moving out of a residence in the 2700 block of 280th Street in Washington Sunday morning and had gotten out of control and was yelling and throwing things. Officers responded. It was a civil issue. A civil stand-by was given. Officers advised all parties to have no further contact.

A subject was reported causing problems Monday afternoon in the 400 block of South Third Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The caller was given a ride to Central Park so he could get away from the situation.

 

Liquor law violations

A subject was reported intoxicated and refusing to leave Saturday night in the 400 block of South Harrison Street in Brighton. Officers responded.

 

Illegal dumping

Illegal dumping was reported Monday morning in the 2600 block of Nutmeg Avenue in Washington. Officers spoke with the subject.

Illegal dumping was reported Monday morning in the 100 block of West 14th Street in Washington. Officers were unable to locate any trash.

Trash was reported left in an alley in the 100 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington Monday afternoon. Officers responded and attempted to locate a suspect.

 

Animal complaints

A bat was reported in a residence in the 400 block of West Madison Street in Washington Friday evening. Officers responded.

An officer was requested Saturday morning in the 400 block of East Main Street in Washington to assist with a bat.

Three horses were reported out in a ditch at E Avenue and 14th Street in Kalona Sunday morning. Officers responded.

A loose dog was reported Sunday afternoon in the 300 block of North B Avenue in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

A caller in the 700 block of East Main Street in Washington reported Sunday evening that a large white dog had charged her. The dog had never left the yard, but was not tied up. Officers spoke with the owners.

Two bats were reported in a residence in the 300 block of West Main Street in Washington Sunday evening. Officers responded.

A caller in the 1000 block of East Third Street in Washington reported Monday morning that while she was gone someone let the dog off the leash. Officers located the dog. Jessica Dawn Wiseman was cited for allowing a dog to run at large.

 

DP&Q

Several intoxicated people were reported being loud in the 100 block of E Avenue in Kalona Sunday morning. Officers responded.

Loud music was reported Sunday night in the 100 block of First Avenue in Wellman. Officers were unable to locate.

 

All other offenses

A caller reported Saturday morning that his sister was having a party in his garage without permission. Officers responded. No one would come to the door.

A deputy was requested Saturday afternoon in the 400 block of South Harrison Street in Brighton in reference to a dispute between the caller and his ex-girlfriend regarding possession of the residence.

A bicycle was reported found Saturday afternoon in the 800 block of South C Avenue in Washington. It was taken to the bike shed.

A subject was reported walking at Airport Road and East Fillmore Street in Washington Saturday night. The subject was in dark clothing and was difficult to see. Officers responded.

An officer was requested Saturday night in the 2400 block of 219th Boulevard in Washington in reference to a situation with the caller’s juvenile son. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 400 block of Old Military Road in Ainsworth reported Sunday afternoon a subject had taken his Mexican passport, a resident card, Social Security card and his cell phone. The subject denied taking the items.

 

Family offense non violent

An officer was requested Friday afternoon in the 300 block of Howard Street in Kalona due to an issue with the caller’s husband not letting her take the children to see her parents. Officers responded.

 

Runaway/missing person

A caller in the 1000 block of Circle Drive in Wellman reported Saturday evening that her cousin was en route to a friend’s residence and had not arrived. Officers attempted to locate. The subject was later located.

 

Hang-up 911 calls

Dispatch reported Tuesday morning receiving a 911 call from a residence in the 100 block of West Main Street in Brighton. Officers responded. No one came to the door.

 

Suspicious activity

Suspicious activity was reported Friday morning in the 1100 block of Underwood Avenue in Riverside. The incident is under investigation.

Subjects in the 400 block of South Harrison Street in Brighton were reportedly shooting off fireworks Sunday evening. Officers were unable to locate.

Two subjects were reported riding the same bicycle Sunday night in the 1700 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

A subject in the 2900 block of Highway 92 in Ainsworth kept going into the women’s bathroom for extended periods of time. Officers responded. Two subjects were asked to leave the park.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested Friday morning in the 1000 block of Vine Avenue in Riverside. Officers responded.

A welfare check was requested Friday morning on a subject in the 200 block of South Van Buren Street in Brighton. Officers responded.

A welfare check was requested Sunday evening on a subject in the 50 block of East First Street in Riverside. Officers responded.

A welfare check was requested Monday evening on a subject digging near a fire hydrant. Officers responded. No problem.
