Arrests

Trent Anthony Vikel, 42, of Iowa City, was arrested Friday morning in the 200 block of Eighth Avenue in Wellman on a warrant for public intoxication and interference with official acts.

Keith Adam Murray, 29, of Washington, was arrested Saturday morning in the 600 block of West Adams Street in Washington for simple domestic assault. Jessica Ann Murray, 23, of Washington, was arrested at the same time and location for serious assault domestic.

Chris Allen Beliel, 58, of Wayland, was arrested Saturday evening at Ivy and Highway 78 in Brighton for OWI, speeding, open container and driving under revocation.

Santonio Duntae Burnett, 28, of Oxford, was arrested Sunday morning at Highways 218 and 22 in Riverside for driving while revoked, operating while intoxicated, possession of contraband in a correctional facility, and possession of a controlled substance.

Johnatan Sanchez, 21, of Washington, was arrested Sunday evening in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington for disorderly conduct. Nathan Douglas Mueller, 22, of Washington, was arrested at the same time and location for disorderly conduct.

Mark Larry Sylvester, 49, of Marion, was arrested Sunday night in the 200 block of North Van Buren Street in Brighton for public intoxicated and violating a no-contact order. Jamie Joy Haynes, 31, of Richland, was arrested at the same time and location for OWI and violating a no-contact order.

Donald Arthur Kading, 35, of Brooklyn, was arrested Sunday night in the 400 block of E Avenue in Kalona for possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of prescription drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Traffic accidents

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Friday evening on Highway 218 at Highway 22 in Riverside. Officers responded. Over $1,500 damage was reported.

A caller reported Saturday evening hitting a loose dog in the 100 block of West Washington Boulevard in Washington and he believed it was deceased. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A single-vehicle accident was reported Sunday morning at Highways 218 and 22 in Riverside. Officers, Riverside Fire Department, Riverside QRS and Washington County Ambulance responded.

A vehicle reportedly ran a stop sign and hit the caller’s vehicle Sunday evening at Washburn and Second streets in Riverside. Officers and Riverside First Responders responded. Trisha Walsh of Riverside was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.

 

Traffic other

Micah Joseph Harmsen, 29, of Keota, was cited Saturday evening in the 1500 block of 250th Street in Washington for open container.

Lewis Alan Jones, 24, of Washington, was arrested Sunday morning in the 600 block of East Madison Street in Washington for driving under revocation.

A caller reported Sunday afternoon almost being struck by a vehicle at Iowa and Farmer Street in Brighton and requested an officer speak with the driver. Officers responded.

 

Fire calls

A fire alarm was reported Sunday afternoon in the 400 block of East Tyler Street in Washington. Washington Fire Department responded. It was a false alarm.

A gas smell was reported Sunday afternoon in the 200 block of North Railroad Street in Ainsworth. Ainsworth Fire Department and Alliant responded.

 

Physical child abuse

A possible case of physical child abuse was reported Friday afternoon in Washington County. The incident was documented.

 

Drug/narcotics violation

Charges were filed Saturday morning in the 300 block of East Polk Street in Washington on Brandon Lee Davis, 17, of Washington for possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

All other thefts

A gas drive-off in the amount of $65 was reported Saturday evening in the 1500 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded.

A purse was reported stolen out of a vehicle in the 700 block of South Eighth Avenue in Washington Sunday morning.

A rear license plate was reportedly stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington. The subject was advised to contact the DMV for a replacement.

 

Vandalism

A caller reported Friday evening someone vandalized her daughter’s grave in Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. Officers responded. The incident is under investigation.

A caller in the 1100 block of Enterprise Drive in Riverside reported Friday night a group of juveniles vandalized one of their shake machines. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

An officer was requested Friday afternoon in the 1100 block of South B Avenue in Washington in reference to a student who threatened another student. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 1000 block of Vine Avenue in Riverside reported Friday evening that her ex-husband was harassing her. Officers spoke with both parties. The caller was advised to seek a no-contact order.

A caller in the 1000 block of Vine Avenue in Riverside reported Friday night receiving harassing phone calls. Officers were advised.

 

Trespass

A caller in the 400 block of East Second Street in Washington reported Friday morning someone let his dogs out again. The incident was documented.

A vehicle reportedly stopped by a barn in the 1000 block of Vine Avenue in Riverside Friday night and was sitting in the lane with its lights off. Officers responded. The driver was advised to move on.

Three subjects were reported on a property in the 100 block of A Avenue in Kalona. Officers located the subjects and advised them to stay away.

Two juveniles were reported playing on a rock pile in the 700 block of East Seventh Street in Washington Sunday afternoon. Officers responded.

A caller in the 1400 block of Fir Avenue in Wellman reported Sunday afternoon someone was in the residence next door to her, that she owns. Officers responded and spoke with two subjects.

 

Intoxicated pedestrian

An intoxicated subject was reported Saturday night at North Iowa Avenue and East 13th Street in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

An intoxicated subject reportedly walked into a house in the 200 block of North 13th Avenue in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

A caller reported Sunday night that his daughter was intoxicated and out of control in the 1100 block of Kola Avenue in Kalona. Officers responded.

 

Curfew/loitering/vagrancy

Officers reported Saturday morning being out with a vehicle at Sunset Park in Washington. A consent search was conducted. Charges of possession of a controlled substance are pending DCI lab results.

 

Animal complaints

A loose beagle was reported in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona Friday morning. Officers responded and spoke with the owner.

A loose dog was reported Sunday afternoon in the 700 block of Highland Court in Washington. Officers responded.

A barking dog was reported Sunday afternoon in the 300 block of West Van Buren Street in Washington. Officers responded.

A barking dog was reported Sunday evening in the 600 block of Fourth Street in Wellman. Officers responded.

 

DP&Q

Loud music was reported Friday night in the 100 block of East 11th Street in Washington. Officers responded.

A loud party was reportedly getting out of control Saturday night at South Eighth Avenue and East Van Buren Street in Washington. Officers responded.

A domestic situation was reported Sunday morning in the 700 block of East Van Buren Street in Washington. Officers responded.

A large group of juveniles was reported Sunday night in the 100 block of West Washington Street in Washington using vulgar language and being loud. Officers responded. The subjects had moved on.

 

All other offenses

A bike was reported at North Iowa and West 17th Street in Washington Friday afternoon and it had been there more than a day. It was taken to the bike shed.

A deputy was requested Sunday afternoon in the 200 block of North Mechanic Street in Brighton in reference to an incident between the caller and her son. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

Three subjects were reported Sunday afternoon in the 300 block of North Second Avenue in Washington standing on an overpass holding a stop sign. Officers responded and counseled the subjects.

 

Family offense non violent

A subject was reported in the 1000 block of North Second Avenue in Washington Sunday night and would not leave. Officers responded.

 

Suspicious activity

A suspicious vehicle was reported Friday morning in the 800 block of South Eighth Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

A subject was reported Friday afternoon in the 2500 block of Underwood Avenue in Ainsworth selling magazines. The subject was advised to stop selling until he obtained the proper paperwork.

Four subjects were reported lying in the street at North 12th and East Washington Street in Washington Saturday evening. Officers responded and spoke with the subjects.

A caller in the 600 block of South Seventh Avenue in Washington reported Saturday night that someone was ringing his doorbell. Officers checked the area.

Two subjects were reported in the back yard of a residence in the 100 block of Railroad Street in Riverside Saturday night. Officers responded. The subjects were gone on arrival.

A caller in the 1400 block of Fir Avenue in Wellman reported Sunday afternoon her neighbors witnessed two subjects go onto her property while she was away. Officers responded and checked the residence.

Two subjects in a white van were reported Sunday evening taking pictures of a residence at South B Avenue and West Adams Street in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

 

Runaway/missing person

A caller in the 300 block of Fourth Street in Wellman reported Saturday afternoon that her son left the residence after a verbal argument. Officers responded. The subject was located.

The K9 unit was requested Sunday evening in the 31000 block of 110th Street in Kinross to assist with searching for a missing 11-year-old girl. Officers responded. The family located the girl.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested Friday morning on a subject in the 100 block of West Second Street in Washington. Officers responded. The subject was located.
