Arrests

Orion Eugene Lovegreen, 18, of Wellman, was arrested Wednesday morning in the 100 block of 15th Street in Wellman for possession of a controlled substance – meth, possession of a controlled substance – marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Brent James Welsh, 40, of Iowa City, was arrested Wednesday afternoon in the 100 block of Buckeye Lane in Riverside for probation violation on an original charge of telephone dissemination of obscene material to a minor.

Johnathan James Wolfe, 29, of Washington, was arrested Wednesday evening in the 2100 block of Nutmeg Avenue in Washington for domestic abuse.

 

Traffic accidents

A vehicle struck another vehicle Wednesday morning in the 100 block of West Washington Street in Washington. Michael James Calvin of Washington was cited for unsafe backing.

An accident was reported Wednesday night at Highway 92 and North Junction in Washington. Over $1,500 damage was reported.

 

Traffic other

A caller in the 1600 block of 190th Street in West Chester requested documentation Wednesday morning that trucks were using a bridge with a posted weight limit and the trucks were over the limit. Deputies and State Patrol were advised.

 

Assault

A caller in the 600 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington reported Wednesday afternoon that a student assaulted him and a teacher Tuesday afternoon. Officers spoke with all parties. Assault charges to be filed.

 

All other thefts

A lost or stolen cell phone device was reported Wednesday evening and the GPS showed it was in the 300 block of West Washington Street in Washington. Officers located the device and returned it.

 

Disorderly conduct

A possibly intoxicated subject was reported Wednesday night in the 700 block of South B Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The subject was not intoxicated.

 

Animal complaints

A barking dog was reported Wednesday evening in the 900 block of Circle Drive in Wellman. Officers responded.

A barking dog was reported Wednesday evening in the 1500 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

A pitbull was reported in the caller’s yard in the 600 block of East Washington Street in Washington Wednesday evening. The caller was able to trap the dog inside the property. Officers responded. The dog was returned.

A barking dog was reported Thursday morning in the 800 block of South C Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. No one would come to the door. The incident was documented.

 

DP&Q

Two subjects were reported being loud and using vulgar language Thursday morning in the 400 block of Eighth Avenue in Wellman. Officers were unable to locate.

 

All other offenses

Two small children were reported walking with backpacks on Highway 92 in Washington. Officers located the children. They were en route to Stewart School and got lost. Officers gave them a ride.

A caller in the 600 block of White Tail Court in Wellman reported Wednesday evening that he had the paperwork to pick up his child for visitation time but the child’s mother would not allow the child to leave. Officers responded. The child was turned over to the father.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller in the 20 block of Parkside Estates Road in Washington reported Wednesday afternoon that her 17-year-old daughter was physical toward her and left the house after a verbal disagreement. Officers spoke with all parties.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested on a subject in the 500 block of Fifth Street in Wellman Wednesday evening. The caller reported her friend left a suicidal text message. Officers attempted to locate.
