Arrests

Jenna Leigh Jones, 25, of Riverside, was arrested Friday morning in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside on a warrant for violating a no-contact order.

Daymun Roger Schadt, 32, of Brighton, was arrested Friday morning in the 200 block of South Benton Street in Brighton for trespass.

Glenn Allen Dickerson Jr., 30, of Iowa City, was arrested Saturday morning in the 1600 block of 130th Street in Wellman for failure to appear for a probation hearing.

Jason Lee Williams, 25, of Washington was arrested Saturday night in the 300 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington for public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tyler Cameron Metcalf, 21, of Coal City, was arrested Sunday morning in the 1600 block of Madison Avenue in Wellman for speeding, felony eluding, assault on a peace officer with a dangerous weapon, open container, criminal mischief, trespass, careless driving, reckless driving, driving while revoked, and no proof of insurance.

Trent Anthony Vikel, 42, of Iowa City, was arrested Sunday evening at E Avenue in Kalona for operating while intoxicated and open container.

Hannah Steffanie Myers, 23, of Mt. Pleasant, was arrested Sunday night in the 1500 block of Highway 218 in Riverside for operating while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jeffrey Jack Tyler, 30, of Wellman, was arrested Monday morning in the 600 block of Third Street in Wellman for domestic abuse assault causing injury.

 

Traffic accidents

A vehicle reportedly hit a ‘road closed’ sign Friday morning at West Van Buren and South B Avenue in Washington. Officers located the vehicle.

A caller reported Friday afternoon that a bicyclist pulled out in front of her in the 200 block of East Washington Street in Washington and she made contact with the bike. The subject was fine. The incident was documented.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Saturday morning at Highway 218 and 192nd Street in Ainsworth. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 400 block of South Ninth Avenue in Washington reported Sunday afternoon borrowing his son’s vehicle and it got hit. Information was exchanged. The incident was documented.

 

Fire calls

Two power lines were reported touching Saturday evening in the 2300 block of Louisa Washington Road in Ainsworth Saturday evening causing the caller’s residence to lose power. Ainsworth Fire Department responded.

A strong odor of gas was reported Saturday evening in the 200 block of 11th Street in Wellman and someone had left a gas stove burner on. Wellman Fire Department and officers responded.

 

Assault

A caller reported making a purchase in the 300 block of West Madison Street in Washington Sunday evening and the clerk had given her the wrong item and would not correct the mistake. The caller reported the clerk then pushed her out of the store. Officers responded and advised the caller the police cannot fix the issue with lottery tickets. The clerk denied pushing the caller. The surveillance tapes will be reviewed.

 

Drug/narcotics violations

Many subjects were reported smoking marijuana Sunday evening at Sunset Park in Washington. Officers responded. Unfounded.

 

Fraud

A caller in the 200 block of East Third Street in Riverside reported being scammed Sunday evening. The incident was documented.

 

All other thefts

A gas drive-off in the amount of $20 was reported Friday morning in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

A push lawn mower was reported stolen Saturday afternoon in the 200 block of South D Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 800 block of South 12th Avenue in Washington reported Saturday evening she was missing money from her residence. The incident is under investigation.

A bicycle was reported stolen Sunday afternoon in the 600 block of East Main Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

A check was reported taken from a purse Sunday afternoon in the 300 block of East Main Street in Washington. The caller also located a gas receipt for $25 and she didn’t get any gas. The incident was documented.

A gas drive-off in the amount of $20.02 was reported Sunday afternoon in the 600 block of E Avenue in Kalona. The incident was documented.

A subject in the 700 block of East Washington Street in Washington reportedly had the caller’s daughter’s cell phone and would not give it back. Officers were advised. The phone was returned. The incident was documented.

 

Vandalism

The lock on a storage unit in the 1400 block of E Avenue in Kalona was reportedly cut off. Officers responded. About five locks had been cut. No theft. The only damage was to the locks. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the 2700 block of Havre Lane in Washington reported Sunday night receiving harassing and threatening text messages. Officers responded.

 

Disorderly conduct

A caller in the 900 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington reported Saturday morning the his wife had some produce sitting outside for a subject to pick up and some juveniles came by and threw it in the street. Officers responded and counseled the juveniles.

 

Illegal dumping

Someone reportedly dumped shingles and garbage in the 3300 block of Underwood Avenue in Crawfordsville Saturday morning. Officers responded. A subject was given 24 hours to clean it up or charges will be filed.

 

Animal complaints

A barking dog was reported Friday evening in the 900 block of Circle Drive in Wellman. Officers responded. No one came to the door.

A barking dog was reported Saturday morning in the 800 block of South C Avenue in Washington. Officers responded and contacted the owner. A verbal warning was given.

A dog was reported barking continuously Saturday afternoon in the 900 block of Circle Drive in Wellman Saturday afternoon. Officers responded. The subject at the residence was advised. He was caring for the dogs while the owner was on vacation. The incident was documented.

A barking dog was reported Saturday evening in the 300 block of West Van Buren Street in Washington. Officers responded and made contact with the owner.

A barking dog was reported Sunday afternoon in the 400 block of Main Street in Kalona. The owner was given a written warning.

 

DP&Q

Subjects in the 600 block of East Washington Street in Washington were reported causing a disturbance Saturday morning. Officers responded.

Someone was reported banging on a vehicle with an object Saturday morning in the 100 block of South Sixth Street in Kalona. Officers responded. A subject was located in the vehicle. There was a strong odor of alcohol and the subject refused a breath test. The subject had lost the keys for the vehicle and will stay the night.

A loud party was reported Monday morning in the 100 block of North railroad Street in Ainsworth. Officers responded. Robert Joseph Greiner, 20, of Ainsworth, was cited for violation of the city’s noise ordinance.

 

All other offenses

A violation of a no-contact order was reported Friday morning in the 2800 block of 130th Street in Riverside. The incident is under investigation.

A caller in the 100 block of Fifth Street in Wellman reported Saturday morning that someone was trying to take her vehicle. Officers responded. The vehicle was repossessed.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller reported Friday afternoon being en route to the 100 block of Eighth Avenue in Wellman to check on a child. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A deputy was requested Friday evening in the 2600 block of Wayland Road in Washington to speak with the caller’s 4-year-old son who refused to listen to the caller or her husband. Officers spoke with the caller.

A caller in the 2500 block of Spruce Avenue in Ainsworth reported Saturday morning that his 13-year-old daughter was out of control. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

Suspicious activity

Extra patrol was requested Saturday evening in the 800 block of Sixth Avenue in Wellman in reference to someone entering the school Saturday evening. No damage and nothing was missing. The incident was documented.

All the lights were reported on at a residence in the 1200 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington Saturday night and no one was supposed to be at the residence. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A truck was reported parked in the 500 block of 11th Avenue in Kalona Sunday night and a subject had been sitting inside for over an hour. Officers responded. The subject had an argument with his girlfriend and came outside to cool off. No problem.

 

Welfare check

An officer was requested Friday afternoon in the 400 block of East Madison Street in Washington for a welfare check. The incident was documented.

Two subjects were reported walking southbound on Highway 218 in Ainsworth Saturday evening. Officers responded. The subjects had broken down. Officers gave them a ride.

 

Civil dispute

A caller in the 1000 block of Vine Avenue in Riverside reported Saturday evening that was an issue with a male friend of his children’s mother. Officers responded. Issue was resolved.
