Randy Vincent Rarick, 28, of Wayland was arrested on a warrant for probation violations on two counts of prohibited acts Friday evening. Bond was set at $10,000 cash only.
David Keith Brown, 39, of Wellman, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation Friday evening on tax stamp charges. Bond was set at $5,000 cash.
The Washington Police Department reports being on the square Friday evening with a wanted subject. Randy Paul Martin, 59, of Washington was arrested for a probation violation on public intoxication in the third offense. Bond was set at $5,000 cash only.
Traffic Stop Serious
A caller reported being out with a subject in reference to an earlier broadcast about an erratic driver. The Washington Police Department responded. Rony Barlomeo Garcia-Deleon, 20, of Washington, was arrested for eluding, no driver’s license, no insurance, and interference with official acts causing bodily injury. The vehicle was towed.
A second caller reported the vehicle might have rear-ended a white Franzen Electric bucket truck at the roadway construction on Highway 92. The Washington Police Department was notified and will attempt to locate the owner of the other vehicle to advise them. The incident was documented only at this time.
A Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy was out with a vehicle on Highway 92 by Lexington Boulevard Saturday afternoon. Jamie Lee Landgon, 38, of Wellman was cited into court for driving under suspension third offense. His wife picked up the vehicle and the subject.
A caller reports another vehicle rear-ended his in the 1100 block of West Madison Street Friday evening. No injuries were reported. The Washington Police Department responded. Damage to the vehicles was over $1,500. A state accident report will be filed. Lori Dice, 49, of Washington, was cited for failure to stop at a sure and clear distance.
A vehicle at the intersection of 170th Street and Tulip Avenue in Riverside with no one around appears to have been in an accident Saturday evening. Timothy Dale Stultz, of Ainsworth, hit the back end of a semi. The accident was non-reportable and no injuries were reported. The incident will be documented only at this time.
A caller reported hitting deer on Highway 1 north of the Skunk River Bridge Saturday evening. The caller had family on the way to assist him and believed the car to be drivable. The Washington County Sheriff’s Department was notified. The incident was documented.
A caller reported his daughter hit a deer at Ginkgo Avenue and Highway 92 Sunday evening. The deer was still alive. The Washington County Sheriff’s Department responded. The deer was made final. The vehicle was drivable.
All Other Traffic
A caller reported the South Burlington railroad-crossing arm came down on his trailer causing damage to the crossing arm at North 12th Avenue and East Fourth Street Friday afternoon. The crossing arm is possibly detached. The railroad has been contacted. The Washington Police Department was advised.
A caller reported neighborhood children in the 700 block of 14th Street in Wellman drove the caller’s golf cart into the caller’s garage door Friday evening. The Washington County Sheriff’s Department responded and spoke with all parties involved. The incident was documented.
An anonymous report of a younger child driving a golf cart near North Sixth Avenue and East Second Street was reported Saturday evening. The child was driving the golf cart in the alley and turning around on the street. The Washington Police Department responded. The child was advised of the laws of driving the golf cart on the roadway and should no longer be a problem.
A caller reported two vehicles were parked on the sidewalk. One vehicle was located at the 600 block of South C Avenue in Washington and the other was located at the 800 block of South C Avenue. The one located at the 800 block of South C Avenue had been there for several weeks. The Washington Police Department responded. The vehicles were moved.
Motor Vehicle Theft
A caller reported receiving information regarding the location of a possible stolen vehicle Friday afternoon in the 200 block of South Second Avenue and East Jackson Street. The Washington Police Department responded. The vehicle was located and canceled from the system. The owner has taken possession of the vehicle.
A caller reported location a boat and trailer in the ditch located in the 2300 block of 290th Street in Washington Sunday afternoon. The boat and trailer were both reported stolen Sunday morning from Fairfield. The owner was contacted to retrieve the items.
All Other Thefts
A caller reported the theft of a free agency stunt bike from their front porch Sunday afternoon in the 500 block of South B Avenue. The stunt bike was described as having rockstar stickers, red handle grips, and black pegs on the back. The incident was documented with the Washington Police Department.
A caller reported her mom was assaulted by her boyfriend Friday morning in the 300 block of South Marion Avenue. The Washington Police Department responded. Dennis Dean Williams, 48, of Washington was arrested for domestic abuse second offense. Marilyn Ann Jewell, 61, of Washington was arrested for domestic abuse first offense.
A caller reported a domestic assault between father and daughter in the 1000 block of Birch Avenue Saturday evening. The Washington County Sheriff’s Department responded. James Dale Magneson Sr., 73, of Wellman was arrested for possession of a firearm by a felon.
A caller reported a domestic situation between a male and female in the 2600 block of Wayland Road Saturday evening. The Washington County Sheriff’s Department and the Washington Police Department responded. Law officials got statements from both parties. Contact was made with the Washington County Attorney’s Office who advised charges wouldn’t be pursued. The incident was documented.
A caller reported fighting in the parking lot located at 1500 East Washington Street Sunday evening. The subjects left in a white truck and a gray tuck northbound on 15th Street. The Washington Police Department responded and a report will be filed.
A caller reported his girlfriend hit him with a vase in the 300 block of Fourth Street in Wellman Saturday morning. He has left the camper and would like to speak with a deputy and refused medical assistance. The Washington County Sheriff’s Department responded and spoke with both parties. The female subject requested the deputy to tell the male subject he is no longer welcome at the camper.
A caller reported being verbally harassed by another subject Friday afternoon in the 1000 block of West Madison Avenue. The Washington Police Department responded and spoke with both subjects. A warning was given to each party to leave each other alone.
A caller reported an intoxicated male subject was threatening the casino staff in the 3100 block of Highway 22 Saturday evening. The Washington County Sheriff’s Department responded. Scott Stephen Birney, 19, of Iowa City was arrested for public intoxication.
A caller reported several subjects being on another vehicle in the drive thru in the 200 block of West Madison Street Sunday evening. The Washington Police Department responded. The incident is under investigation and a report will be filed.
A caller reported a possibly intoxicated male in the ditch in the 3300 block of 190th Street of Ainsworth Friday morning. The Washington County Sheriff’s Department responded and located the subject at his residence. There were no problems.
A caller reported there is a suspicious truck at the entrance of the trailer park located at the 100 block of South Sixth Street in Kalona Friday evening. The Washington County Sheriff’s Department responded and spoke to the caller. The truck was gone upon arrival.
A caller reported a suspicious male subject was walking around Wellman Elementary School located in the 800 block of Sixth Street Friday evening. The subject appeared to be doing something around the door of the building. He then left eastbound on Highway 22 in a darker colored Ford Ranger. The Washington Sheriff’s Department responded. The building was secure and they were unable to locate anyone in the area.
A caller reported her neighbors were shooting BB guns near her residence and one of them hit her house in the 100 block of A Avenue in Kalona Sunday evening. The Washington County Sheriff’s Department responded and spoke to the subjects who denied shooting the BB guns. They were told if a deputy had to return then the BB guns would be seized.
