Polishville Center opens this month

Mar 03, 2014

After closing for January and February, Polishville Community Center is starting up its dances and bingo games again this month.

The month kicks off with a dance, with Goodman/Anders of North English and Newhall providing the music, on Sunday. Food will be for sale at 4:30 p.m., and dancing will be from 6-9 p.m.

Lunch and bingo is planned March 12. Lunch will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by bingo at 12:30 p.m.

The organization is trying something new with its bingo games, Polishville Association president Bill Peck pointed out. The games will now be held at lunch time on the second Wednesday of each month instead of in the evenings twice a month.

“We are kind of modeling it after the monthly congregate meals at the St. Joseph church in East Pleasant Plain,” Peck said.

Polishville will end the month with a dance March 23. Ned Francis of Mount Sterling will provided the music. Food will be for sale at 4:30 p.m., and dancing will be from 6-9 p.m.

The dances and bingo games are open to the public, and people of all ages can attend.

For information, call Peck at 319-694-3495; an answering service is available.
