Washington Police Department and Washington Fire Department responded today at about 8:30 a.m. to Second Street and Second Avenue to reports of a downed power line. Firefighters reported that a transformer had blown up and that Alliant Energy would have to repair the damage. A short power outage was reported on the east side of town after the event.
