Prairie Pride 4-H Club
The regular meeting of the Prairie Pride 4-H Club was held at the Extension Office on Aug. 18, 2013.
The meeting was called to order by Sarah Greiner at 5:07 p.m. The Pledge was led by Bailey Stalder. Roll call was answered by 24 members, who told of their favorite thing about the county fair. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Holly Vittetoe and approved by Morgan Brinning and McKenna Brinning. The treasurer’s report was given by Morgan Brinning and approved by Taylor Brinning and Sydney Cuddeback.
In old business, discussion was held on fair results and a reminder to write thank-you notes to donors of trophies and plaques. A thank-you was extended to all members who helped keep the flower bed watered and weed-free at the entrance of the fairgrounds.
In new business, record books are due at the next meeting on Sept. 15. For those planning to try for a 4-H award, the applications are due by the next meeting. Applications may also be turned in to the Extension Office by Oct. 1.
National 4-H Week is Oct. 6-12. If anyone has suggestions for improvements to the fair, the fair evaluation meeting will be held on Aug. 21. Members were reminded that 4-H awards night will be Nov. 2. Election of officers was held.
The meeting was adjourned with the 4-H pledge led by Molly Sparks. After the meeting, refreshments were served. A presentation was given by Cameron Malichky on “Ducks.”
