Prairie Pride 4-H Club

Oct 30, 2013

The regular meeting of the Prairie Pride 4-H Club was held at the Extension office on Oct. 20, 2013.

The meeting was called to order by McKenna Brinning at 5:01 p.m. The Pledge was led by Aubrey Zimmer. Roll call was answered by 38 members, by answering the question that went with the suit of a deck of cards. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Holly Vittetoe and approved by Gracie Greiner and Megan Mitchell. The treasurer’s report was given by Kaylee Vogel and approved by Morgan Brinning and Molly Sparks. In unfinished business was a reminder that enrollment with $10 dues needed to be turned in. Thanks were extended to Ellie and Sophie Bell for promoting the club during National 4-H Week. Record books and premium checks were passed out to members. Heather Greiner discussed record-keeping ideas.

In new business was a reminder that the Family Fun/Awards Night is Nov. 2 at 5:30 p.m. at the Extension office with a haunted house afterward. Senior scholarships are available online. Beef weigh-in is Dec. 14. Information on the Washington, D.C., trip is in the 4-H newsletter if anyone is interested in attending. The club will be having a Pizza Ranch tip night on Nov. 18. A new community service project at PAWS & More was discussed.

The meeting was adjourned, with the 4-H pledge led by Vanessa Moeller. Presentations were given by Cameron Malichky on “Chocolate Brownie Spiders,” Jenah Greiner on “DIY Calendar,” Mackenzie Meek on “Metallic Pumpkins,” and Sarah Greiner on “DIY Fall Décor.” Refreshments were served.
