Prairie Pride 4-H Club
The regular meeting of the Prairie Pride 4-H Club was held at the Extension office on Feb. 16, 2014.
The meeting was called to order by McKenna Brinning at 5 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Makenna Burdock. Roll call was answered by 28 members by telling “one person, place or thing you love.” The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Holly Vittetoe and approved by Morgan Brinning and Gracie Greiner. The treasurer’s report was given by Kaylee Vogel and approved by Morgan Brinning and Molly Sparks. Members participating gave an update on the club’s community service project, 4-H Fire Up, and the skating party. The club learned that members are needed to mentor Clover Kids in the clothing event. The dodge ball tournament is March 9, and no pre-registration is required. The intermediate trip deadline is Feb. 24. The pancake breakfast and cattle show will be April 19. The FSQA training meeting is March 29. Registration for the single source swine is due March 1. Members were reminded of a garden meeting Feb. 22 and the photography workshop on Feb. 24. A sewing workshop is scheduled for March 1 at the Extension office. Members can follow Washington County 4-H on Facebook. Members were reminded to inform their leaders when they are going to be absent from a meeting. The meeting was adjourned with the 4-H pledge led by Sophie Bell.
Presentations were given by Bayley Stalder on “Cream Cheese Mints,” Christina Brinning and Haylee Wilson on “Stuffed Strawberries,” Morgan Brinning on “Cookie Dough Billionaire Bars,” Taylor Brinning on “Twix Ice Cream Sandwich Cake,” McKenna Brinning on “Favorite 5 Places,” and Sierra Wagner on “DIY Headbands.” A special program was given by the Washington County EMTs. Refreshments were served.
