Prairie Pride 4-H Club
The regular meeting of the Prairie Pride 4-H Club was held at the Extension Office on March 16, 2014. The meeting was called to order by McKenna Brinning at 5 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Sophia Kleese. Roll call was answered by 22 members, stating what they would pick as their career/job at the moment. The secretary’s report and the treasurer’s report were not given. Discussion was held on the many workshops held, with thanks extended to those who attended. Nominees are being sought for 4-H Hall of Fame. A junior trip will be held in Madrid, and an intermediate trip is planned. FSQA is March 29, and junior members must attend. Intermediate and senior members may test out. Members were reminded to read their e-mails from 4-H online, and to go to PAWS & More for the month they signed up to volunteer.
The pancake breakfast and cattle show is April 19. Members can volunteer to help, or are encouraged to come to eat with their families to promote 4-H. Members sharing hostess duties were reminded to coordinate treats with others assigned to that month, to come 15 minutes early to greet and set up, and stay to clean up. If unable to fulfill these duties, they are asked to trade with someone else. The meeting was adjourned with the 4-H pledge led by Grace Schiebel.
Presentations were given by Kristen Twinam on “Organ Donations,” Delany Adams on “Wall Letter Decorations,” and Makenna Burdock on “How to Make Dog Collars and Leashes.” Refreshments were served.
