Prairie Pride 4-H Club
The regular meeting of the Prairie Pride 4-H Club was held at the extension office on Nov. 18. The pledge was led by Gracie Greiner. Roll call was answered by 32 members who told about one thing they are thankful for.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Holly Vittetoe and approved by Gracie Greiner and Morgan Brinning. The treasurer's report was given and approved by Megan Mitchell and Jenah Greiner.
In old business, a discussion was held about 4-H awards night. The camera workshop was held Nov. 17.
Enrollments and money were collected for 4-H memberships.
Sarah Greiner spoke on attending the national livestock judging competition and how her team did.
In new business, the date for the Christmas party was set for Dec. 2. The club will sponsor a family and each member is to bring $5 for a gift. Members planned to wrap the gifts and hold a pizza party.
The beef weigh-in will be held Dec. 15 at the Kalona Sale Barn.
Holly Vittetoe talked about her experience working at the extension office for OJT.
The Citizenship Washington trip is June 2013 for 4-H'ers in 10th through 12th grade.
The meeting was adjourned with the 4-H Pledge led by Morgan Brinning.
Ellie and Sophie Bell gave a presentation on "Pumpkin Fluff Dip." Megan Mitchell gave a presentation on "Homemade Hot Chocolate." Alexa Mitchell gave a presentation on "How to Make Rainbow Cupcakes." Kaitlyn Mitchell gave a presentation on "Pom Pom Decorations for Presents." Demeri Bell gave a presentation on "Candy Turkey Favors." Samantha Mellinger gave a presentation on "How to Tell if an Egg is Fresh."
Refreshments were served.
Jackie Knupp of Serenity Salon and Spa gave a presentation on skin care and makeup.
