Prairie Pride 4-H Club

Mar 29, 2013

The regular meeting of the Prairie Pride 4-H Club was held at the extension office March 17. The meeting was called to order by Sarah Greiner at 5:04 p.m. The Pledge was led by Molly Sparks. Roll call was answered by 28 members by saying their favorite sport. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Gracie Greiner. The treasurer’s report was given by Morgan Brinning.

In old business, discussions were held about different workshops that members had attended, the dodge ball tournament and how the FSQA meeting had gone. There was also a discussion about those who had signed up for the upcoming 4-H trips and recruiting some more adult volunteers.

In new business, the club is helping with a service project March 20 at the McCreedy Home. Members will be making bunny paintbrush door hangers for the residents. The skating party was rescheduled. A signup sheet was passed around to get members’ T-shirt sizes along with a thank-you to Federation Bank for donating the shirts for the fair this year. Members were reminded that all animal IDs must be entered online by May 15 in order to show at the fair. The pancake breakfast will be held April 20 in the basement of the extension office. Prairie Pride Club is signed up to help with cleanup from 9:30 to 11 a.m. A signup sheet was passed around for volunteers. The meeting was adjourned with the 4-H pledge led by Allison Hippen.

After the meeting, presentations were given by Makenna Brinning on how to plant a tree, Morgan Brinning on muffin testing, Taylor Brinning on how to make s’mores dip, and Alexey England on caring for your rabbit. Members were reminded to pick up their painted mugs before going home. Refreshments were served.
