Prairie Pride 4-H Club

The regular meeting of the Prairie Pride 4-H Club was held at the Extension office on April 21, 2013. A group activity was held.

The meeting was called to order by Sarah Greiner at 5:20 p.m. The Pledge was led by Gracie Greiner. Roll call was answered by 31 members naming their favorite animal. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Holly Vittetoe and approved by Teresa Anders and Megan Mitchell. The treasurer’s report was given by Morgan Brinning and approved by Megan Mitchell and Gracie Greiner.

In old business, discussion was held on the pancake breakfast, skating party and the McCreedy Home project.

In new business, all members were reminded to be reading the 4-H newsletter for any fair changes, state fair information, and any upcoming events. The Junior 4-H trip is June 17-21. The Iowa 4-H conference and Animal Science Round Up is June 25-27 and is for senior members only. Members were reminded of the schedule to weed and water the flower bed at the entrance of the fairgrounds on their assigned week. Other reminders were that livestock must be entered online by May 15, the clothing event is June 13, and the Washington County Fair is July 14-19. The meeting was adjourned with the 4-H pledge led by Kristen Twinam.

After the meeting, refreshments were served. Presentations were given by Sydney Cuddeback — Rainbow Cake; Payton Cuddeback —How to Make Flavored Water; Gracie Greiner — Decorative Christmas Bulbs; Isabel Bailey — Tissue Paper Flowers; Michaela Hoffman — Apple Cars; Hailey Wilson and Carly Burlingame – Reese’s Krispies; and Vanessa Moeller — Peanut Butter Surprise Cookies.
