At least two area people have reported attempted phone scams to the Washington School District office this morning, superintendent Mike Jorgensen reported.
Jorgensen said one of the phone calls, from a caller in Texas, was soliciting sponsors for a T-shirt on behalf of the school district. The other, he said, was selling magnets for Stewart Elementary.
“We did not authorize either of those,” Jorgensen said. “We are doing fundraisers, but they are all done locally.”
He said anyone with questions about the legitimacy of a solicitation could call the school district office at 653-6543.
