Severe weather predicted through Wednesday night
The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities reports a prolonged period of unsettled weather will be seen across the area, including Washington County, from Saturday night through Wednesday with many rounds of rain expected.
Thunderstorms will be possible from Saturday night through Monday.
Storms Saturday night may produce some hail especially west of the Mississippi River.
A better chance for strong to severe storms may occur late Sunday afternoon and evening especially along and south of Interstate 80. These storms, as well as other storm clusters, may produce locally heavy rainfall across portions of the outlook area into Monday morning.
Another round of storms and heavy rain will be possible Monday and Monday night. At this time, it is too early to determine the threat of any severe storms or where the heavy rain will fall on Monday.
The substantial rains expected over the area from Saturday night into Tuesday will likely cause significant rises on area tributary rivers and also will have some impact on the Mississippi River.
