Students attend leadership conference
This fall, the Washington High School Business Professionals of America (BPA) chapter attended the Fall Leadership Conference as the largest chapter. Sixty-four students spent their time learning more about being business professionals.
The BPA group attended the weekend conference filled with speakers, an etiquette dinner, self-improvement workshops, and business tours across Des Moines.
Their weekend also included a BPA meeting and a keynote speaker, Chris Bowers, who spoke about risk taking, treating people in a positive way, self-confidence, dealing with frustration, being involved, and choosing to do your best with the opportunities life presents you.
BPA members are now preparing for their State Leadership conference in February where they will compete with schools from across the state in different workplace skills assessments for the opportunity to qualify for the National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Fla., in May.
