The great egg hunt
The Kiwanis AMers held the annual Easter Egg Hunt in Sunset Park, Saturday morning. Hundreds of area grade school children, above, sprang to action after a brief countdown to the signal to “go” to fill their baskets full of Easter eggs left in the field.
Rylan Ravens, son of Shelby and Ryan Ravens, meets a familiar character while waiting to collect Easter eggs during the annual egg hunt. The Easter Bunny, who was invited to the event by Washington Chamber of Commerce office assistant Lynnette Kennedy, posed for pictures with several children, as well as several parents, before the main event.
As is done every year, the egg hunters were divided up based on age. With kindergarten through second grade students searching in a lower field near the playground equipment and third through fifth graders searching in a higher field.
