Three Iowa Mennonite School girls compete at Danville
DANVILLE - The Iowa Mennonite girls’ track team began its outdoor season last night at Danville High School. The team of three young women competed in five different running events compiling 21 points.
Junior Riley Schmieder opened the night by winning the 3,000-meter run by a convincing margin. Riley’s time of 11:47.35 was better than her time on the indoor track at Central College on March 21.
Sophomore Grace Belin competed in the 100-meter dash finishing with an unofficial time of 15.32. Schmieder reappeared in the 100-meter hurdles. She placed sixth in 20.20.
Junior Michaela Gingerich ran the 800-meter in 3:24.23. Gingerich and Schmieder then competed in the 1500-meter run. Schmieder got her second victory of the night in 5:41.25. Gingerich placed eighth in 6:56.03
