Traffic light under repair
Crews worked today to repair the traffic light at South Avenue B and West Madison Street. According to Chad McCleary, water plant superintendent, the crews have replaced a control box on the lights and are working to find and replace an underground wire that had shorted out. He said that the crews should be finished by the end of today.
The problems with the traffic lights came to the city’s attention Sunday morning when the lights shut off altogether. Crews responded and replaced the control box, which restored power to all the lights, except the east facing ones. The lights are currently set to flash red, and portable stop signs have been set out to control traffic.
