Waiting for Baby New Year begins
Christmas Day 2013 has come and gone and the remainder of the year is quickly winding down, bringing the wait for the 2014 Washington County Baby New Year.
Again this year, The Washington Evening Journal hopes to celebrate the birth of the first baby of 2014 at Washington County Hospital and Clinics with the child’s family. Baby New Year will be the first child born in Washington County Hospital. Residency in Washington County is not a requirement. Parents are asked to call The Washington Evening Journal at 653-2191 within 24 hours of the child’s birth or 319-591-0282 after business hours or on weekends. Parents can also e-mail The Journal at <firstname.lastname@example.org.> The hospital has been asked to inform The Journal of the first birth of the year, but parents are encouraged to call as well.
After the baby is confirmed as the first child of 2014, the child and the parents will be featured on the front page of The Washington Evening Journal. The parents will receive a letter stating they are the parents of Baby New Year, which will entitle them to numerous gifts from area businesses.
