Washington City Council to meet
The Washington City Council will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at 120 E. Main St. to tour the former library building. The council will then meet in regular session at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers.
Items on the agenda include consent items; claims and financial reports; presentations from the public; special presentations from St. James Knight Flight request, library alley closure request, Hogging for Heroes request, and presentation of 28E agreement-auditorium; former library renovation preliminary schedule; State Theatre/East Washington Bump-Out Plan; 2014 seal coat project; fiscal year 2014 budget amendment; third reading amending ordinances in chapters 15,17,18,19,27,30,35,123,125,127, and 151; third reading of an ordinance amending ordinance chapter 65 "Stop or Yield Required"; second reading of an ordinance to add a new section concerning temporary encroachments on right of way; second reading of an ordinance amending sidewalk café regulations; first reading of an ordinance amending utility rates; Washington Urban Commercial Urban Renewal Plan; setting a public hearing on a development agreement with Overland Property Group; streetlight changes; and reports from police department, city attorney, and city administrator.
The council will hold a closed session in accordance with Code of Iowa Section 21.5(i) on personnel evaluations.
