Washington City Council to meet
The Washington City Council will hold an executive session at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, per Code of Iowa Chapter 20.17(3) collective bargaining, at 120 E. Main St.
The council will meet in regular session at 6 p.m. after the executive session.
Items on the agenda include issues concerning water metering in the Parkside Estates mobile home community; Modern Eye Care request for an additional handicapped parking spot; Above & Beyond Cancer 5K Run request; the consent agenda; claims and financial reports, including DeLong Construction West Side Sanitary Sewer Intercepter pay estimate No. 11 for $39,228; Redlinger Farm lease; revised agreement for street sweeper (down payment); ratify group life, long-term disability and short-term disability changes; special assessment policy; new accounting funds (water capital projects and sewer capital projects); public hearing, resolution and levying a tax for payment on the authorization of loan agreement and issuance not to exceed $250,000 General Obligation Capital Loan Notes, Series 2013 (Streets/Airports); public hearing and adoption for the annual budget for fiscal year 2014; submission of final plans for South Iowa Mill & Overlay project; Riverboat Foundation applications; creating a city attorney transition task force and confirming appointments; departmental report; committee reports and reports from the mayor and councilors.
The council will also meet in closed session per Iowa Code Chapter 21.5(c) pending litigation.
