The Washington chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution met on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. at the Washington Public Library. Vice Regent Julie Mangold conducted the business meeting.
Alexander Young Cabin committee member Marj Lins informed the members of vandalism that took place at the cabin on Nov. 2. Windows were broken, but entry was not gained. The windows have been covered until repairs can be made.
Member Dorothy Miller presented an interesting program on Valley Forge. Members were all reminded of the history surrounding the winter of Valley Forge and of the deplorable conditions suffered by the soldiers. Dorothy was attired in a dress she had personally fashioned depicting the historically correct attire of that period.
The next meeting will be on March 4, at 1:30 p.m. at the Halcyon House.
