Washington eighth-grade boys win three close games
BURLINGTON — The Washington eighth-grade boys’ basketball team edged Aldo Leopold in each of three games on Feb. 12.
The Demon A team defeated Aldo Leopold 33-29. Tanner Coleman scored nine points to lead Washington (7-3), and he also grabbed three rebounds. Mason Rich added eight points, three rebounds, two steals and an assist, and Bryce Sinn had seven points and three rebounds. Noah Enfield had five points, two steals and a rebound in the contest. Drake Brezina had two points to go with nine rebounds and a steal, and Michael Gier had two points, three rebounds and a steal. John Dillon contributed two rebounds and a steal.
Michael Dillon hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift the Washington B team to a 17-14 win over Aldo Leopold. John Sands scored six points to lead the Demons (7-3), and he also had two rebounds and two steals. Ryan Loy added four points, five rebounds and two thefts, and Dillon finished with three points, two rebounds and a steal. John Dillon and Aaron Vittetoe both chipped in two points, and Dillon also had two rebounds and two steals. Collin Zear contributed two rebounds, two steals and an assist.
The Washington C team edged Aldo Leopold 16-13. Sands and Matthew Wheeler scored six points apiece to lead the Demons (4-1-1), and Wheeler also had two steals and a rebound. Michael Dillon added four points, three rebounds and an assist. Joey Deidrich contributed a rebound, an assist and a steal. Dylan Kinman, Reid Basten and Jack Carter each pulled down a pair of rebounds.
