Washington eighth-graders fall at Keokuk
KEOKUK — The Washington eighth-grade girls’ basketball team fell behind 10-2 after one quarter at Keokuk on Tuesday night, and they never recovered as the Chiefs rolled to a 37-14 win.
Lexi Redlinger scored seven points to lead the Demons (0-4), while Alexi Evans and Michaela Roder added two points apiece. Jessie Buchholz, Bella Giardino and Brenna Weidman each scored one point.
Redlinger led Washington on the boards with five rebounds, and Evans pulled down three boards. Giardino had a pair of rebounds, while Buchholz, Roder and Weidman each contributed one.
Giardino had a team-high four steals in the contest, and Buchholz added a pair of thefts. Redlinger and Alexis Turner both had a steal in the game.
