Washington FFA wins 2013 Iowa FFA Milk Quality and Products Career Development Event

Photo by: Washington High School FFA The Washington FFA was named Champion Team at the Iowa FFA Milk Quality and Products Career Development Event (CDE). Team members are Emma Stout, daughter of Tim and Julie Stout; Addie Pacha, daughter of Curt Pacha and Kerrie Willis; Maddie Kleese, daughter of John and Sue Kleese; and Libby Schnicker, daughter of Perry Schnicker and Melinda Schnicker. The team finished first in the Written Test and Mastitis Testing and Milking Equipment. They will represent Iowa at the National FFA Convention.

The Washington FFA, Washington was named the Iowa Champion FFA Milk Quality & Products Team. Team members included: Maddie Kleese, Addie Pacha, Libby Schnicker, and Emma Stout. Duane Van Winkle is the agriculture education instructor and FFA advisor. The champion team will compete in the National FFA Milk Quality & Products Career Development Event during the National FFA Convention in Louisville, Ky., this October. The champion team received a plaque sponsored by the National FFA Foundation.

The 2013 Iowa FFA Milk Quality & Products Career Development Event was held at ISU, Ames on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013. Twenty teams and 71 individuals participated in this year’s career development event that is designed to provide students an opportunity to display their knowledge and skills in the area of milk quality and dairy foods.

Mia Konchalski of Southeast Polk FFA, Addie Pacha of Washington FFA, Megan Oswald of Murray FFA, Rachel Babinat of LaPorte-Dysart FFA, Emma Stout of Washington FFA, 
Molly Hesnard of East Sac FFA,Taylor Zieser of West Delaware FFA, and Jessica Wurzer of Sumner-Fredericksburg FFA.
