Washington girls place third
KEOKUK – The Washington High School girls’ golf team opened its season in a six-team tournament at the Keokuk Country Club on Thursday, April 10.
Washington took third place in the field with an 18-hole total of 437. Sarah Waite shot a 98 to pace the Demons.
Deanna Peiffer shot an even 100. Brenna Burlingame was next with a 113. Maddie Hora shot a 126 and Brenna Weidman a 130.
“This was a good first meet. We set some benchmarks to work on going forward. Our short game is going to be the emphasis,” Washington head coach Leonard Kull said.
