Washington girls rally past Fairfield for their first win of the season
The Washington girls’ bowling team trailed visiting Fairfield by eight pins heading into the final Baker game during Saturday’s Southeast Conference dual meet at Melody Lanes, but the Demons topped the Trojans 147-124 in that game to earn their first victory of the season.
Washington finished with a team score of 2,297 on the day, edging the Trojans by 15 pins. Junior Brandi Hagans rolled games of 181 and 190, and her two-game series score of 371 led the Demons. Sophomore Kailey Martin added a 315 series, and sophomore Ivy Hamilton had a two-game total of 301. Sophomore Jessica Londberg had a 298 series, and sophomore Rylee Arbogast had a 227 series to round out the scoring. Sophomore Kali McDole toppled 186 pins in two games.
Washington trailed Fairfield by 95 pins after the individual round, but out-scored the Trojans 785-675 in the Baker round.
Fairfield defeated the Washington boys’ bowling team by 137 pins.
The Demons totaled a team score of 2,368 on the day. Senior Zach Martin rolled games of 201 and 164, and his two-game series score of 365 led Washington. Senior Adam Woodson added a 359 series, and senior Dalton Nichols had a two-game total of 336. Seniors Ryan Roberts and Shawn Edwards had a 290 series and a 286 series, respectively, to round out the scoring. Senior Allan Raymundo toppled 271 pins in two games. The Demons added 732 pins in the Baker round.
The Washington bowling team will host the Southeast Conference tournament at Melody Lanes this Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
