GRINNELL — The Washington junior varsity boys’ basketball team ended its season with a 55-30 loss at Grinnell on Feb. 15.
The Demons shot just 25 percent (9-for-36) from the field in their final game of the season.
Junior Noah Lebsack scored 12 points to lead the Demons, and he also blocked seven shots and grabbed three rebounds in the contest. Junior Mason Quigley added eight points, three assists and three steals, and sophomore Blake Weidman had four points and two rebounds. Junior Walker Breard had two points, two rebounds and two blocks in the game, and sophomore Gage Redlinger had two points, three rebounds and two steals. Junior Brett Wright also scored two points, and sophomore Travis Friese pulled down three rebounds.
Despite the loss, the Washington junior varsity boys’ basketball team finished its successful season with a 16-5 record.
“I was happy with how hard these guys played all season and how they used their intensity to see a lot of success this year,” Washington head coach Nathan Miller said. “In the 16 games that they won, the reason that they won is because they out-worked the other team. They played good team basketball this season and turned opportunities that they created at the defensive end into offensive production.”
