Washington JV girls snap three-game losing streak
The Washington junior varsity girls’ basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 37-11 win over visiting Fort Madison on Tuesday night.
The Demons (4-6) shot just 25 percent (16-for-64) from the field in the game, but won the contest by playing outstanding defense. Washington led 24-5 at halftime.
“We just played well. It was nice to get a win,” Washington head coach Jay Zieglowsky said.
Junior Grace Redlinger scored 12 points to lead the Demons, and she also had six steals and five rebounds. Sophomore Rachael Hall added five points, six rebounds and five steals, and sophomore Macy Marek also scored five points. Sophomore Sydney Hoffman had four points and four steals, and junior Addie Shive had four points and six rebounds. Sophomore Dylann Schluetter had three points to go with 11 rebounds, seven of which came on the offensive end. Junior Dema Giardino contributed two points and three steals, and freshman Amber Salow also chipped in two points. Sophomore Jordan Stout had three steals in the game.
