Washington seventh-grade boys win two of three at Fairfield
FAIRFIELD — The Washington seventh-grade boys’ basketball team won two of three games at rival Fairfield on Dec. 14.
The Demons cut Fairfield’s 12-point lead to one point late in the A game, but suffered a 29-28 loss. Jaivonn Willis scored 12 points to lead Washington (7-4), and he also grabbed six rebounds. Dalton Myers added eight points and three rebounds, and Jack Redlinger had six points, two assists and two rebounds. Mitchell Huisenga chipped in two points and four rebounds. Zeb Roos and Blake Hartzler both had an assist, and Jacob Van Osdol grabbed a rebound.
The Washington B team blew out the Trojans 25-7. Cale Hobscheidt and Brennan Horak scored six points apiece to lead the Demons (7-4). Hobscheidt also had three assists and two rebounds in the contest, and Horak had a rebound and an assist. Matt Roder added five points, four rebounds and two assists, and Landon Hinkley had four points and two boards. Thomas Zimmer chipped in two points and three rebounds, and Van Osdol had two points and two rebounds. Mason Letts contributed two assists and two rebounds.
The Demon C team edged Fairfield 9-6. Eric Sanchez scored five points and pulled down seven rebounds to lead Washington (9-2), and Letts had two points to go with seven boards. Hinkley chipped in two points and three rebounds. Zimmer and John Lisauskas both hauled in three rebounds apiece, while Caleb Woodson and Jameson Bell both had two. Adrian Venegas also grabbed a rebound.
