Washington seventh-grade girls drop three games
The Washington seventh-grade girls’ basketball team lost three games at Mt. Pleasant on Thursday.
Mt. Pleasant defeated Washington 38-26 in the A game. Sarah Nacos had 12 points, nine steals and four rebounds to lead the Demons (2-2). Megan Mitchell and Brooke Stout both added four points and four rebounds, and Mitchell also had a steal. Morgan Brinning had two points to go with five rebounds and a steal, and Allison Vogel had two points and a pair of rebounds. Megan Strabala chipped in two points. Michaela Hoffman, Kristen Twinam and Reagan Caffery each contributed a rebound.
Washington led 4-1 heading into the fourth quarter of the B game, but the Panthers rallied to win 5-4. Twinam and Strabala scored two points apiece for the Demons (0-3-1). Twinam and Baylee Stalder led the Demons on the boards with three rebounds apiece. Kaylee Enfield grabbed two rebounds, while Hoffman and Brinning both had one. Brinning had three steals in the game, and Makenna Rich had one. Strabala, Hoffman and Enfield each had a theft.
Mt. Pleasant defeated Washington 10-2 in the C game. Emily Collier scored the only two points of the game for the Demons (0-2), and she also had two rebounds and a steal. Tania Melendez had two rebounds and a pair of steals, while Alexis Edwards and Breanna Brinning both grabbed a rebound. Mackenzie Beam had three steals in the contest, Erin Mills had two, and Addison McGuire had one.
