Washington seventh-grade girls win one, tie one at Ottumwa
OTTUMWA — The Washington seventh-grade girls’ basketball team won a game and tied a game at Ottumwa on Tuesday night.
Washington won the A game 25-21. Sarah Nacos scored 10 points to lead the Demons (2-1), and she also had four rebounds and four steals in the contest. Brooke Stout added eight points, six rebounds and a steal. Megan Strabala, Allison Vogel and Reagan Caffery chipped in two points apiece. Strabala also had three steals and two rebounds in the game, and Vogel had two steals and two rebounds. Caffery had a rebound and a steal. Michaela Hoffman chipped in one point and one rebound, while Megan Mitchell and Kaylee Enfield both grabbed a rebound. Kristen Twinam and Jessica Hora both had a steal.
The B game ended in a 20-20 tie. Caffery had seven points and five steals to lead Washington (0-1-1), and Twinam added six points, three rebounds and a steal. Hora scored four points, and Hoffman had two points and a pair of steals. Makenna Rich rounded out the scoring with one point. Erin Mills led the Demons on the boards with four rebounds. Keira Gould and Mackenzie Beam both grabbed a pair of rebounds, while Jackie Nunez and Tania Melendez both had one. Emily Collier and Bailey Stalder both had a pair of steals in the game, while Beam and Breanna Brinning both had one.
The Washington seventh-grade girls’ basketball team will host Keokuk on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
