Washington softball struggles at last regular season game
Washington head softball coach Angie Shrader said her team had a rough go of things in their last regular season game against Cedar Rapids Prairie on Wednesday, July 10.
“This was not our best softball,” she said. “Nothing was working well for us. We only had five hits.”
The Demon’s lost the game 8 to 3.
“We had six errors,” Shrader said, “and of the eight runs the other team had, only two of them were earned.”
Shrader said her team would have to play better all around in order to win their first regional game.
“We will have to come ready to play Demon ball,” Shrader said. “By Demon ball I mean being aggressive on the base and making the sacrifice plays to get the girls on base in scoring position. We also need to play better defense.”
The game will be July 12 at the Washington softball field. They will play Keokuk.
