Wayland woman hospitalized after accident
WAYLAND — A Wayland woman was airlifted by Medforce to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on Friday, Oct. 18 after the vehicle she was driving left the roadway.
According to the accident report from the Iowa State Patrol Office, Pamela Savage, 56, of Wayland, was driving a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix four-door northbound on W55 Friday afternoon at about 3:58 p.m. The report said the vehicle crossed the centerline in the 1500 block of Franklin Avenue. The vehicle went into the ditch on the west side and across a stream. The vehicle then came to a stop in a field on the west side of the W55. The vehicle was towed.
Savage was wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident, the report said.
The Iowa State Patrol, Henry County Sheriff’s Department, Wayland Fire and Rescue, and the Henry County Ambulance all responded to the scene.
