West Chester UMW
The West Chester United Methodist Women met at the church on March 12, 2014, for a sewing day, with five members attending. Twenty towel chest napkins and 28 triangle chest napkins were made and distributed to area nursing homes. Beverly Zehr planned and organized the sewing day. Pat Dusenbery furnished coffeecake for the morning coffee break. A noon potluck was enjoyed by those attending.
President Sharon Hahn opened the business meeting by reading the March Bible verse from Deuteronomy 32:47. She announced the Day Apart, Saturday, April 5, at the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church. Guest speaker will be Peg Egbert, former director of Mumms.
The minutes of the December meeting were read, and the financial report was given.
Pat Dusenbery, Education and Interpretation chairwoman, read from Matthew 18:10-14. Pat told about human trafficking in South America, especially children, and that this happens all over the world.
The next meeting will be at 1:30 p.m., April 9 at the church. Sharon Hahn will present the Call to Prayer and Self Denial service. Liz Miksch will present the program on Challenge of Disabilities. Hostesses will be Pat and Jeaniene Dusenbery.
