Wildcat boys’ season comes to close
WILTON – The Columbus Junction High School boys’ varsity basketball team played its last game of the season on Monday, Feb. 17 at Wilton against the host school. The Beavers defeated the Wildcats 81 – 58 in the first round of Class 2A district tournament play.
Wilton got off to a 21 – 12 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, outscoring Columbus Junction the rest of the way as well.
Senior Kenan Todd led the Wildcats in scoring with 22 points. Senior Alex Mincer added 16 points. Mincer and senior Rickey Rivers each had five rebounds to lead Columbus Junction. Rivers also had seven assists to lead the Wildcats. Todd led Columbus Junction with three steals.
The Wildcats finish the season at 5 – 17 overall.
