Woman arrested in Riverside Monday
RIVERSIDE — Melissa Dawn Campbell was arrested in Riverside on Monday, April 1, and was charged with driving under suspension for non-payment of an Iowa fine, and unlawful possession of prescription drugs, the court record said.
On Monday, April 1, at 1:37 p.m. dispatch was advised of a complaint that a female subject was present at 151 W. Third St. in Riverside, the court record said. Dispatch was advised that the female subject came at the resident with a knife and was sitting inside a red vehicle.
Upon the deputy making contact with the female, who presented herself from the operator’s seat of the running vehicle, identification was requested, the court record said. According to the court record an Arizona Identification Card only was presented displaying Melissa Campbell and the birth date of 09/10/1979.
The court record said Campbell told the deputy that she used to live in the north apartment but currently lives in Cedar Rapids. When asked about the knife issue, Campbell said she had in fact had the knife, and voluntarily produced it from her purse, the court record said. She had said she was using it to “cut super glue from her phone charger,” the court record said.
Dispatch then advised that Campbell has an Iowa operator’s status of suspended for non-payment of an Iowa Fine, the court record said. Dispatch also advised that Campbell’s Arizona Identification Card was issued in 2010 and Campbell’s Iowa identification card was issued in 2011, the court record said.
Campbell was taken into custody. Upon inventory of Campbell’s purse by Washington County Jail personnel, two blue prescription pills identified as acetaminophen and hydrocodone bitartrate 500 mg/ 10mg were found and no prescription was advised, the court record said. Accord-ing to the court record those pills are classified as prescription only and are analgesic combinations.
Campbell was charged with her second misdemeanor for possession of prescription drugs, which is a serious misdemeanor, the court record said. Campbell appeared before the judge on April 2, 2013. The court record said she was released on her own recognizance. A public hearing has been scheduled for these charges on April 19, 2013, at the Washington County Courthouse in Washington, the court record said.
