Yard waste center to extend hours

Nov 02, 2012

The City of Washington’s Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) and Yard Waste Center (YWC), located at 1065 West Buchanan Street, is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, so Washington residents can drop off their yard waste and tree trimmings. The WWTP will extend its hours to be open from 7 to 10 a.m. on Saturday mornings during the month of November 2012. The YWC doesn’t accept lumber or building materials of any type. If you use plastic bags, remember to dump out contents and take the bags with you. Please remember — if you didn’t grow it, don’t throw it.

Any questions can be directed to the WWTP Office by calling 653-2638.
