BRIGHTON — When the Brighton Bear Cub Club gathered Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 12, after school to celebrate Christmas, they did not forget others in their celebration of the season.
According to Amy Green, 4-H Youth Coordinator, the object was to celebrate by giving to others. In a media release, she described how the young members of the club worked, baking cookies all afternoon.
“The youth worked together to read baking directions, bake cookies, and package them for downtown businesses in Brighton,” Green said. “The group then enjoyed the nice winter weather and walked to each business to make their Christmas deliveries.”
She said after the cookies were distributed, the members enjoyed relay games and charades, and made small crafts to give to their families or friends.
The Brighton Bear Cub Club is offered by Washington County Extension and sponsored by Brighton Horizons. For more information on the club, call 653-4811.
