Jul 29, 2013

Many people enjoyed “making-and-taking” during the Working Exhibits on Tuesday, July 16, at the Washington County Fair. A large crowd flocked to the air-conditioned presentations Tuesday late afternoon and left with some homemade items and valuable facts.

Six groups of 4-H’ers participated in the Working Exhibits. Four groups will represent Washington County at the Iowa State Fair. Shelly and Lindsey Palmer of Limecreek Limelights will represent Washington County at the Iowa State Fair with “Eggstra Special Flowers.” Shari Temple of the Dutch Creek Flyers and Holly Vittetoe of Prairie Pride will share their “Barnyard Bites” at the state fair. Isabel Bailey of Prairie Pride and her “Tissue Paper Flowers” was also selected as a state fair recipient. Hannah Van Roekel and Katie Palmer of the Limecreek Limelights earned top honor of Judge’s Choice trophy and also advance to the state fair with their working exhibit “Do Ewe Know Sheep?”
