4-H’ers chalk paint a little bit of Christmas

Dec 06, 2017

With Christmas right around the corner, 4-H’ers enjoyed designing and styling their own wood Christmas trees with a variety of unique painting techniques at the 4-H Winter Project Extravaganza on Dec. 2. Ten 4-H members learned from Leslie Allender of RePurpose It in Washington ways to enhancing painting with stencils, decoupage, wax, dry brush, and foil. The 4-H Project Extravaganza was designed to offer several unique hands-on learning opportunities. Another similar day has been set for March 17.

4-H’ers who participated in the workshop included: Brock Lowenberg, Emily Rinner, Grace Conger, Peighton Ford, Megan Kitchen, Annie Morrison, Lilly Clark, Alex Murphy, Anna Nafziger, and Natalie McCleary.

For more information on Washington County 4-H as a member or volunteer, contact Amy at the Washington County Extension Office at 319-653-4811 or amygreen@iastate.edu. Washington County Extension & Outreach provides hands-on learning opportunity for youth across the county.
