Abatement begins

Crews were at work Monday morning at Goncho Apartments to abate methamphetamine residue that had been located in the building after a meth lab was found in one of the apartments on Dec. 5, 2012. On Jan. 17, 2013, the residents of the building were ordered to vacate after Goncho Apartments was declared a dangerous building. A packet of papers given to the tenants cited an “unacceptable level of methamphetamine residue and numerous city and state fire code and electrical code violations. The building contains 16 apartments.
