HOLLISTER, Mo. — Alice Marie Hess, 53, of Ridgedale, Missouri, died Sunday, April 16, 2017, on her birthday.

A private gathering will be held at a later date. Cremations of the Ozarks in Hollister, Missouri, is in charge of arrangements and cremation.

Alice was born April 16, 1964, in Butte, Montana, the daughter of Arthur Hess and Patricia Weber.

She graduated from Washington High School in Washington, where she was a state champion in discus for track. She also played basketball and softball in both high school and college. She was known for her generosity and for a heart as big as Montana -- the place she loved the most. She was a kind and giving person, who never met a stranger, was always a little loud and was perpetually cheerful. She took great pride in caring for her home and in her work as a chef. She was an avid golfer and loved sports. She adored her pets.

Surviving are her loving wife, Sarah McCrea; her mother, Patricia Weber; her stepfather, Greg Weber; one brother, Arthur Edmund Hess; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins from Texas, Montana, Iowa, Colorado, and Minnesota; and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father; and by one brother, Kevin Hess.
