Post 29, American Legion met in regular session at the Blair House with Robert Kennedy, Commanding. Adjutant Jim Peterson gave the treasurer’s report and announced the death of member T.J. Berdo.

Rick Conrad spoke of a program that is attempting to install a framed copy of the Constitution into every courthouse in the state. To date, 66 counties have complied. Post 29 voted to support the project.

Allen Fuhr suggested giving flags to local middle schools and urging them to perform the national anthem at all functions.

Gary Duder announced a program in which the Legion Riders, Auxiliary and the Sons of the American Legion are providing funds for Christmas gifts to patients in the VA Hospital in Iowa City. It was voted to contribute toward this worthwhile project. In addition, Post 29 will provide 250 stocking caps and 250 pairs of gloves, which will also go to patients in the VA Hospital.

The program was viewing a video taken during last summer when the Vietnam wall came to town. The video was provided by Dean Kurtz.
